About Calpe

Calpe, a little fishing village in Alicante, has converted itself into one of the most desirable touristic destinations on the Costa Blanca.
The rock of Ifach (next to which is a nature reserve) that emerges from the waters gives an idea of this mariners’ town: a perfect blend of sea and mountain where one can spend unforgetable days.
While this little town has many attractive walking paths of its own, you can also take excursions to the nearby towns either by bicycle or on foot.
This coastal zone contains five kilometers of beautiful cliffs, coves, and fine-sand beaches. The most visited of these are La Fossa, Arenal, and Levante, which run along a kilometer of coast and where the greatest number of tourists is concentrated. These have many features to accommodate bathers, while overhead flies the Blue Flag of the EU.
(Don’t forget that smaller and less boisterous beaches – such as El Bol, Molí, Morelló, Calalga and Cantal Roig, all of excellent quality but less well-known – aren’t far away.)
In the coves you can peacefully fish, dive, or scuba-dive, while in the bay sea sports like sailing and motorboat racing can be enjoyed.
July brings the celebration of the Fiestas del Carmen, for which the town fills with a festive and animated air.
The tourism that exists in Calpe has spawned such celebrations as the German Beer Festival, and the Festival of Moors and Christians – carnivals that actually have a more German than Spanish feel to them.
For the summer holiday-maker, the nightlife in Calpe – a tranquil town after all – centers on the beach, together with the bars and discoteques in which you can enjoy yourself all night long.
